Situated inside an exquisite 1906 modernist mid-rise at the corner of Diagonal and Passeig de Gracia, El Palauet Living is a different breed of luxury that has no valet or real signage to elude to its fabulous confines that's part hotel and part private residence. Inside, a spectacular sweeping staircase of carved mahogany transports to another time amongst marble floors, grand rotunda and ceiling reliefs that prevail throughout the property. Upon arrival, an assistant that is assigned to each room through your stay escorts guests to one of six suites. An additional concierge facilitates theater events as well as VIP privileges to area nightclubs and tough restaurant reservation. On the rooftop, a private spa is set in a wraparound terrace with sauna, private massage room with city views and solarium.
The Room
A total of six guest suites are arranged along a series of private floors with sizes that average 1500-sq. ft. A sophisticated design palette mixes dramatic plaster ceiling details and carved doorways amongst a two-room layout that opens to grand parlor with views of the surrounding cityscape. A creamy color palette is accentuated in oversize mirrors and low-flung leather furnishings and dining room arranged in Saarinen marble table and chairs. Fully equipped kitchen offers Boffi-style design and logos like Miele with optional chef on call to cook up a Catalan dinner party. Each suite offers an equally elaborate outdoor space ranging from furnished balcony to grand terraces fit for CEO or Hollywood royalty. Uber modern bathrooms are lined in teak floor with mirrored walls, freestanding cocoon-style tubs and rain showers with chunky chrome fixtures.
